My nest is not so empty today. 

I am so thankful to be spending this day of thanks with my husband, my son and his girlfriend, my daughter and her husband, Higgins, my funny corgi and Fitz, my “grand-kitty”.

I am thankful that for this one day we can press pause on our busy lives and erase the miles that separate us.

I am even thankful for my empty nest because it makes me keenly aware of how special this time together is.
